Teaching Is The Best Profession

Teaching is about engagement and encouraging memory to go from working memory to long term.

Learn to Teach

In a world of learning, there is no better calling than that of a teacher. Where else can you have a direct impact on the future of our world? When you can choose anything, choose to teach! Teaching becomes more than a profession; it becomes a way of life. The skills you learn in the classroom translate to family relationships as well as learning how to teach your children. If you want to be loved and make the biggest difference, the answer is simple: teach! The are many reasons why teaching is the world’s best profession.

10 Reasons to Become a Teacher

  1. Young people love to learn. As students’ brains develop, they are looking for more and more information. They want you to be that for them and are eager to know more about the world they are preparing to enter.
  2. There are hundreds of teaching subjects, so you can spend all day teaching a subject you are passionate about. There is nothing better than sharing your passion; you spend all day immersed in joy.
  3. Holidays are the best when you have students who want to show they appreciate you. Students love to give gifts and cards, as a teacher, you will always be reminded of your worth when you have students.
  4. You can build confidence in a young person who no one else believes in. You can be the one who smiles, the one who teaches it differently. You can personally turn on the light bulb.
  5. You can inspire their choice of career and help mold future doctors, presidents, and law enforcement; the options are endless. As a career teacher myself I can encourage exploration into future career choices as well as entrepreneurship.
  6. You have 34 people who listen to you talk and typically give positive feedback. Students are naturally good, they walk into your class ready to hear, and eager to participate.
  7. Summer break is AWESOME! Three months of staying home while being paid. There are not many jobs that give you three months off and are happy to pay you for time off.
  8. Work hours are always known and never a surprise. You are never on call. Your hours are set, and you are typically off work by 4 pm.
  9. You get the same time off as your kids. As a teacher, you work the same schedule as your kids. Childcare on snow days is never a problem.
  10. Teaching at your kid’s school allows you to know all of their friends and to be the cool mom. This is the best perk of teaching as a parent, I get to spend all day with my children while earning a living.

There is far more to life than money. A life of influencing others for good, helping them reach their full potential and see who they can be when they can’t see, is what this life is for. We are here to lift and build those around us; we must not miss the mark. We have to put more capable individuals in our classrooms. We need the greatest minds to be our greatest teachers. Teaching offers a set schedule, time to travel with your family, and you never work weekends. As a teacher, you have a direct impact on changing the world for the better.
